PhotoDynamic Therapy (PDT)
 PhotoDynamic Therapy™ (PDT) is a special treatment performed with a topical photosensitizing agent called Levulan® Kerastick® (5-aminolevulinic acid or ALA) activated with the correct wavelength of light. This is also known as "ALA/PDT treatment". These treatments remove sun damaged pre-cancerous zones and pre-cancerous lesions called actinic keratoses. Sun damage, fine lines and blotchy pigmentation are also improved with this treatment. ALA/PDT treatment also has the unique ability to minimize pores and reduce oil glands, effectively treating stubborn acne, acne rosacea, and improve the appearance of some acne scars.
How does the treatment work?
PhotoDynamic therapy delivers wavelengths of intense light through very specific filters to the skin. Once delivered, the targeted tissue absorbs the light's energy. We use our advanced light systems and topical applications of ALA to restore a more youthful appearance to your skin by efficiently treating sun-damage, acne, pre-cancer and even some types of skin cancer.

A New Way to Control Moderate Acne
Not exclusive to teenagers, many young adults, people in their 20's and 30's, have trouble with acne that is hard to control. The BLU-U® Treatment – using light without drugs or antibiotics – may be something for you to try. Ask your doctor. The BLU-U® blue light is available in the offices of doctors who specialize in skin treatments. You can ask your doctor if your case of moderate acne is right for BLU-U® Blue Light Treatment. At this time, most insurance companies list the BLU-U® blue light as a cosmetic treatment, so you may pay the doctor yourself. What's the Blue Light Treatment?
There is now a treatment available that doesn't depend on medication. It's called the BLU-U® Blue Light PhotoDynamic Therapy Illuminator.
The BLU-U® is a unique blue light that can kill the P. acnes bacteria in your skin. Treatments are simple – you simply sit with your face close to the light for a short time at a schedule set up by your doctor, approximately a 15-minute session about once or twice per week. The treatments may go on for five weeks or so. It's safe, it's not hot, and it's not painful. After some weeks, the blue light can help control your acne.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) - Photo Facial Rejuvenation
IPL Rejuvenation is a series of Intense Pulsed Light Treatments designed to combat the effects of aging and damaged skin in a softer, gentler way. A precise amount of light energy is delivered through the skin's surface. The light energy stimulates the production of collagen. As the new collagen forms, it softens the appearance of aging skin. Fine lines, wrinkles, mild acne scars and large pores are decreased and the redness associated with rosacea can be dramatically reduced. How does the treatment work?
An intense light is applied in a series of mild pulses over the treatment area. During the treatment, light energy is gently delivered at specific settings to the targeted area. Levels of energy specific to your treatment are used to maximize your individual results. Once delivered, the light energy is absorbed by the targeted damaged tissue. The heat impairs that tissue, with no damage to the skin, and the body begins its natural healing process. The lesion will darken before it flakes off or is absorbed by the body. Treatments are spaced out at three week intervals.

Patients have a high degree of satisfaction with their results. Many have seen 70% to 90% improvement. After successive treatments, the skin will feel smoother and appear to have a more even tone.
